A friend of mine wanted me to make her little girl a quilt that would grow with her and not look too babyish. So, we went to the fabric store and she helped me pick out the fabric. We settled on a variety of shades of blues in chevrons, polka-dots, and flowers. It’s girly without being saccharin. The pattern I went with turned out fine, but doesn’t show off the stair-step as I had intended. I thought that going with something geometrical would help to at some structure to the curves and floral motif of the fabrics. This quilt ended up being about twin sized, and I had the quilting done by a local store in town that has a long-arm machine.
